When I started the Wild Heart Co, I spent a lot of time behind the scenes laying out the groundwork for the values that I wanted to deeply embed into the business. I’ve never been very outwardly vocal about these values because I’ve always hoped that my actions would speak louder than words. Actions that are very direct (like donating monthly to the charities that specifically help BIPOC, refugees/immigrants, LGBTQ) and some less direct (like advocating for more inclusivity during styled shoots).
I’ve never been one to shy away from confrontation and to stand up for what I believe in. I have such a long way to go, and I feel that for me it’s best to use this time to just LISTEN and continue to educate myself and my children so we can truly do better.
I just wanted to make sure that I very blatantly and publicly state, that I see you and I stand with you.
And for anyone who is interested in hearing more, we work with local charities whenever we can, but I’ve chosen the ACLU as the organization to send a monthly monetary donation to because I feel like they are fighting in a way that will make a big impact and most of the work they do seems to reflect my personal idealogies very well.
