Sarah Constant Beach Park (Norfolk Oceanfront)

The pros:

• This is one of the most popular locations for my couples, it’s versatile with sand and water, but also tall grass and trees!

• Rocks on the beach

The cons:

• Will be very crowded during peak summer times

Hermitage Gardens (Norfolk)

The pros:

• Beautiful grounds with a variety of areas to shoot in
• A lot of greenery and flowers to shoot with, plus dramatic arches and ivy-covered walls

The cost:

• You can expect an additional cost of $50/hour to use their grounds, and it must be scheduled ahead of time.

Deep Creek Park (Chesapeake)

The pros:

• Lots of greenery and hidden forest areas, a bridge and open areas as well
• Not a lot of people around

Neon District (Norfolk)

The pros:

• Perfect for a bold, colorful look. Tons of different murals that we can take advantage of.

Norfolk Botanical Gardens

The pros:

• Gorgeous scenery spread out around the area, giving you a variety of looks

• A greenhouse with indoor space

The cost:

• If you are a member you can get one session fee waived a year, and the family memberships are around $100. Otherwise you can pay a fee of around $150 to do a shoot there.

Studio HR (Virginia Beach)

The pros:

• Indoor location with a variety of clean looks, including bedrooms (perfect for boudoir)
• Has a small yard area that can be utilized as well

The cost

• You can expect an additional fee of around $150+ to reserve the studio space.

Ft Monroe (Hampton VA)

Pros:

• Versatility! They have old buildings, gardens, trees, a beach, open fields, and even abandoned buildings (that we can’t go in, of course!)

Cons:

• Depending on the season and time that we go, there may be other people around. But this hasn’t been an issue yet!

Virginia Beach Oceanfront

Pros:

• The beach!

• Tall grass

Cons:

• During tourist season, the beaches will be busy and parking will be difficult

• Without trees to block the light, I really only recommend doing sunrise or shoots here

Redwing Park (Virginia Beach)

Pros:

• Rows of cherry blossoms

• Wooded area

• Japanese garden

Cons:

• During the limited time that the trees are in bloom, it is very packed with photographers!
