“You are too silly to fear the shame of being silly while trying.”
― Kangoma Kindembo
This winter I did myself a bit of an injustice. What I was expecting was a break from work, time when I could just play around and get creative and reset. What I ended up doing was launching a new website (helllllllo beautiful!) and building a team and re-launching the commercial side of my business.
Those are all worthy uses of my time, and I’m extremely proud of all of the hard work I’ve put into this little business of mine. But all that hard work meant that I had left myself with 0 time to play, and all work and no play means…. well, we all know how that movie ends.
My attempt at redemption came when Lauren and I decided to dive into making silly Youtube videos. In February I got a box of vintage cameras (you can see the unboxing here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMHpuXbkpcc) and spent way too much time trying to fix them up.
Annie from Mojo Foto Co , Kyera, Lauren and I took a trip around Virginia Beach to test out these bad boys. Of course I love any chance to shoot just for fun, and the adventure in itself was a blast. We got some rad footage and digital pics.
Unfortunately, after weeks of waiting (and $50 in film developing), I got the bad news that only one of our rolls came out 😭 But we got a few from the black and white roll, so I’m gonna share them here, and we’ll keep our fingers crossed for next time!
